At the South West Coast Path Association we are really lucky to have a huge range of supporters who help us to deliver our promises and look after the Path, conserving it for future generations and promoting it for the enjoyment of everyone. Ways that we are supported are shown below and we always welcome new supporters of all kinds.
Coast Path Champions
TV presenter and walks expert, Julia Bradbury is proud to be supporting the South West Coast Path Association and is an official Coast Path Champion for the South West Coast Path Challenge.
She says: “There are some spectacular walks along the South West Coast Path. Old Harry Rocks is a classic and this walk offers spectacular views of the Jurassic coastline and the surrounding countryside. If you need the perfect excuse to visit a place named ‘Studland’ then this is it.”
You are invited to join the 10-mile Challenge from Swanage to South Haven Point, taking in Old Harry Rocks, Studland and the long stretch of sand at Shell Beach. Register at southwestcoastpath.org.uk/challenge
Julia recommends her favourite walks in Britain on The Outdoor Guide (TOG).
TOG is a resource set up by Julia Bradbury and sister Gina that aims to bring together information for walks all around the UK.
It is a showroom that puts companies with the same ethos together in one place to inspire families to get out and explore this wonderful world.
On TOG you will find fab walks, amazing gear and gadgets along with some recommended places to stay when out walking.

We have a membership base of just over 6,000 dedicated South West Coast Path lovers, a handful of these members have been supporting us since the very beginning in 1973. Some are individual members and some joint, we also have a number who live overseas and want to enable us to continue the good work from afar. Whatever the reason for being a member, you are always welcome. Find out more.
The National Trust is our charity partner and we are working closely together to promote and protect the Coast Path with a Collaboration Agreement that sets out the terms of this partnership.
The National Trust owns approximately a third of the Coast Path, the route of which provides the linking thread between some of its most treasured coastal properties.
It costs at least £1,000 to maintain just 1 mile of Coast Path and an additional £2,000 for the National Trust to take care of the countryside that surrounds it. With funding in significant decline from Natural England, our joint fundraising efforts have become increasingly important for the future maintenance of the Coast Path.
Our main business supporter is South West Water who have been contributing to the Coast Path since 2014. The partnership works incredibly well and helps the South West Coast Path Association deliver our aims to promote and protect the Path. You can see us out and about at shows together and at our events including the Challenge event in October.
Monica Read, South West Water's Business Services and Sustainability Director, says: "The partnership with the South West Coast Path Association fits with our aim of supporting local communities and protecting the natural environment. We look forward to helping to promote this jewel in the region's tourism crown and the good work done by the Association."
We are lucky enough to have a range of local businesses who support us in through a business membership scheme which offers advertising for businesses, support for them to be walker friendly and much more. South West Coast Path walkers contribute approximately £468m to local businesses, which supports the equivalent of over 10,000 full-time jobs.
To ensure that these businesses continue to support or advertise with us, please try and use them so that they find their support for us worthwhile.
We also have a core group of volunteers who have positions such as Trustee, Area Rep and Local Rep, these volunteers are vital in the Association’s work and their help and dedication is often unseen but never unappreciated.
