Grizzly 2020 "Hills Aplenty" will take place on Sunday 8 March 10.30 am
The annual Grizzly weekend every March is a highlight of Seaton’s calendar for runners, spectators and the many, many volunteers that make the whole thing possible. It starts and finishes on Seaton Esplanade. There are two options for runners - the c9mile Cub and the c20 mile full Grizzly, both are tough, undulating courses with the full Grizzly including the infamous bogs, river, Stairway to Heaven and Under Hooken cliffs and the Cub runners turning back at Branscombe mouth along the beach. A large section for all runners is on the South West Coast Path.
The 2020 event will attract some 2000 plus runners following a ballot for places and, as usual, runners will come from across the UK and some from overseas. A huge thank you goes to the landowners who let the event go through their property, the sponsors and all the volunteers. The Grizzly is organised by a committee of volunteers from Axe Valley Runners and all funds raised go to local charities. This year we are delighted to have chosen the South West Coast Path Association as our charity partner to reflect our appreciation of the work done to maintain this beautiful path around the region.
