The second Dart Swim Run forms part of the South West swimrun series and consists of a LONG 8mile and SHORT aquathlon 5.5 mile race. You will start with a 750m swim in the sea at the very picturesque Blackpool Sands, before following the South West Coastpath to Little Dartmouth where the SHORT route returns to Blackpool Sands.
The LONG route continues to Sugary Cove, where you'll swim round the mouth of the River Dart to Stumpy steps and begin your run for home. The LONG Swim Run consists of two runs and two swim sections, while the SHORT Aquathlon consists of one swim and one run, finishing at Blackpool Sands. The courses will be fully marked, electronically timed and supported by our dedicated water safety team. Prizes will be awarded for all categories.
The Wild Dart Swim and Aquathlon is now an established part of the open water swimming calendar in Devon. Our chip timed 2.5k and 5k swim in the Dart with full water safety coverage, offers a worthy challenge in its own right. Now in its second year in 2019: A 15k aquathlon course offers a hilly, partly off road 8.5mile run to complement the 2.5k swim. Also a shorter 7k distance.
