We’re the South West Coast Path Association (SWCPA), a registered charity founded in 1973 to protect the 630 mile National Trail and raise vital funds to improve access for all.
For over 50 years we’ve been championing the South West Coast Path, working tirelessly to establish it as one of the greatest trails in the world.
Every year we coordinate hundreds of projects with the help of the Trails Partnership, raise thousands of pounds to maintain the Path and welcome hundreds of thousands of trail-users to experience the wonder that is the South West Coast Path.

Every year, it costs £1,500 per mile to keep the Path open, clearly signed and in good health. That's £945,000 every year just to keep the 630 mile Trail in existence.
The South West Coast Path would not be here without the support of our members, individual fundraisers, business supporters and regular donors.

It's time to begin a journey of a lifetime with the Coast Path Passport!
The Passport is a great opportunity to connect with some of our Way Maker businesses who support the charity and our stamping points along the 630-mile route. There are now over 200 Passport Stamping Points, where our Way Makers are looking forward to warmly welcoming you as you stop to get your Coast Path Passport stamped, whilst enjoying a light refreshment, a comfortable stay, or taking part in an activity on the route.
