February Walk of the Month

Our February walk of the month is inspired by our calendar picture taken from Great Moluan Beach, looking towards Falmouth on the right and St Anthony Head Lighthouse, which stands guard over the entrance to the Carrick Roads, photographed by Kingsley Scott.

This 5-mile walk takes you around St Anthony’s Head on the Roseland peninsula, starting and finishing at the National Trust Porth car park.

At Carrick Roads the rivers Fal and Truro flow together out to sea, and it is one of Britain's best deep-water anchorages. Falmouth Harbour itself is one of the world's best natural harbours of its kind, and the spectacular views all the way around St Anthony Head have made it an area of tremendous strategic importance throughout history. Allow time to visit the some of the wartime remains on the headland.
