South West Coast Path Challenge

Walk or run this October and raise money for the South West Coast Path!

Help us to break our record for the number of times the Coast Path can be covered in one month, add your miles to our mileometer while raising funds to protect the coastline for future generations.

To take part see our list of organised challenge events all over the South West at the bottom of our page.

Our patron Monty Halls loves the Coast Path and says, “This is one of the most magical trails in Europe and a great way to get into nature. The October Challenge is one of the ways that we can do that and raise money. I’d encourage everyone to create their own challenge, to get out there and enjoy the Path and raise a bit of money while you do it."

Fundraise for the Path

Whether your challenge is one mile or 100, have a look at our useful tips to help you fundraise for the Path!

It costs just £10 to take part in the Challenge, which helps us to cover the cost of logistics and sending you your registration pack in the post containing your Challenge 2016 t-shirt!
To help repair and improve the Path we are then asking everyone to either fundraise or if they prefer make a donation, just by taking part you are helping to conserve the Path for everyone to enjoy.

Completed your Challenge? Donate your fundraising online.

The South West Coast Path Association are partnering with the National Trust to raise funds for much needed improvement and repair projects to our beautiful Coast Path, which is enjoyed by millions of visitors every year.

#Challenge630 - Share your challenge with us and post your photos online, we want to see the stunning views, and your muddy shoes!

  • It costs at least £1000 every year to look after one mile of Coast Path

  • £25 can buy one timber step

  • £350 can provide a Coast Path signpost to ensure you don’t lose your way!

  • Public funding for the Path has been cut by 30%, we need to raise money to keep the Path accessible and in good shape

  • All funds raised are split equally between the South West Coast Path Association and the National Trust - as charities we look after the Path
